The bridge type construction of the MSS 816 and its base are made of a close grained, tightly controlled formulation of aged Meehanite Cast Iron to ensure the highest in geometric accuracy, stability and rigidity. Precision anti-friction linear bearing table feed and index slides are mounted on a massive laboratory grade Granite block that is kinematically suspended within the base of the MSS 816, on three point adjustable supports, allowing easy, distortion free alignment of the datum plane in relation to the spindle and Z axis.
The bridge-mounted vertical Z slide incorporates MTIs precision, mechanical bearing, dual-supported spindle system. The unparalleled stiffness of this design results in reduced vibration, substantially higher feed rates and the ability to withstand increased cutting load conditions.
The MSS 816 precision and structural design combined with process control features such as MTIVision NT 3D parts alignment and inspection software, and the power of GE Fanuc Control System with 17" flat panel LCD touch-screen monitor, along with MTIs solid carbide, sintered, advanced electroplated, and resinoid diamond blade products, is your complete solution for increased throughput, low cost of ownership, quality and yields, and, profitability.
